  1. Q2) 0.05A + 0.04B = ( 2 / 3 ) ( 0.06A + 0.08B)
    0.05A + 0.04B = 0.04A + ( 0.16 / 3 )B
    0.15A + 0.12B = 0.12A + 0.16B
    0.03A = 0.04B
    A / B = 4 / 3
    so the answer is A : B = 4 : 3

    Q4) ( 7 – 5 ) / 5 = 2 / 5 = 40%

    Q6) ( 28 – 24 ) / 24 = 4 / 24 = 16.67%

    Q8) 25 + b + 25b / 100 = 0
    25 + ( 5 / 4)b = 0
    (5 / 4 )b = – 25
    b = – 20%

    Q10) since there are only 2 numbers that have a unit digit of 1 or 9 in units place, out of every 10 possible numbers. then the percentage must be 2 / 10 = 20%

    Q16) 12 – 10 + 12 ( -10) / 100 = 0.8%
    so the area is increased by 0.8%.

    Q18) 10 + 20 + 10 ( 20 ) / 100 = 32%
    so the area is increased by 32%

    Q20) 10 + 10 + 10 + [ 10(10) + 10(10) + 10(10)] / 100 + 10(10)(10)/10000 =33.1%
    so the volume of the cube is increased by 33.1%

    Q22) 30 + 30 + 30(30) / 100 = 69%

    Q24) 300 = 0.15x
    100 = 0.05x

    100 / 5 = 20
    0 d.p. – 2 d.p. = – 2 d.p ( this in fact means that decimal moves two places to the right)

  2. Q28) 1064 = 56%
    so 532 = 28%
    now, we need to feed 10% of the original number.
    so let’s begin with 532 / 28% = 1900
    take 10% = 190
    add this to the 28% found. 10% + 28% = 532 + 190 = 722

    Q30) 20 + 20 + 20 + [ ( 20 ) (20 ) + 20 ( 20 ) + 20 ( 20 ) ] / 100 + 20 ( 20 )(20 ) / 10000 = 72.8%
